Showcases Intelligent Technology and New Remedial Work Action Feature for
its AMPTRAC Smart Connectivity System
GREENSBORO, NC - June 24, 2010 - Tyco Electronics Corporation, the $10.3 billion global provider of engineered electronic components, network solutions, specialty products and undersea telecommunications, today announced that it will exhibit its newly acquired 9th Wire hardware technology that powers the AMPTRAC Intelligent Infrastructure Management System (IIM) along with new AMPTRAC IIM features and a powerful array of network cabling technologies at CISCO Live! 2010. Held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas June 27th through July 2nd, the event is expected to attract more than 10,000 IT professionals.
Tyco Electronics is a Cisco Solution Developer and will use the CISCO Live! event to demonstrate the company’s broad product line including: MRJ21 trunk cables, XG copper, fiber and SECURE cabling products as well as 10 Gig infrastructure demonstrations of Sigma-Link and Quad2, PARA-OPTIX and MPO cable assemblies, Cat 6 panels and fiber adapter plates. Taking center stage in Tyco Electronics Booth #970 in the World of Solutions Expo will be the AMPTRAC intelligent infrastructure management solution. With its 9th Wire technology, the AMPTRAC smart connectivity system makes it easier for IT administrators to maintain an accurate configuration management database, maximize network uptime, enhance asset location and turn cabling systems and their connected devices into smart networks.
9th wire technology provides real-time monitoring of planned and unplanned changes to layer 1 physical infrastructure. It allows patch fields, without active electronics, to communicate with analyzers and work with licensed IIM software from iTRACS Corporation. The combined solution makes it easier for IT administrators to maintain an accurate configuration management database, meet corporate needs for maximum network uptime, enhance asset location and turn cabling systems and their connected devices into smart networks.
“TE is investing in the Intelligent Solution arena to provide IT and facilities managers with the tools they need to perform real-time analysis to expose inefficiencies and optimize the use of their assets,” says Stephen Mitchell, Vice President of the AMP NETCONNECT business unit of Tyco Electronics. “The 9th wire IP acquisition demonstrates our commitment to that investment, our AMPTRAC product line and to TE’s efforts to provide the industry with the best networking intelligence solutions available,” says Mitchell.
