GREENSBORO, NC - April 29, 2009- Tyco Electronics AMP NETCONNECT announced that it has joined the Cisco Technology Developer Program as part of the program’s IP Communication / Solution Enablers category. In addition, the AMP NETCONNECT MRJ21 High-Density Modular Cabling system has successfully completed interoperability testing with the Cisco Catalyst 6500 high capacity switch.

    New AMP NETCONNECT APC connectors are capable of minimizing back reflections, or Optical Return Loss (ORL). These connectors are identifiable by their green color and are ideal in a variety of applications that require >55dB reflectance:

    • CATV and telephone
    • Fiber-to-the-workstation
    • Single-mode cross-connect
    • Direct-connect to electronics

    2/13/2009 - NEW PRODUCT

    AMP NETCONNECT LIGHTCRIMP PLUS connectors can be terminated without removing the protective dust caps.  A new single, universal die set can be used with the protective caps in place for new SC and LC no-epoxy/no-polish connectors.  In addition, it is designed to be used with LIGHTCRIMP splice and existing Pro-Crimpers.  It is worth noting that the new SC and LC connectors, which retain the same part numbers as before, can also be terminated with the old die sets by simply removing the protective caps as called out in the current instruction sheet.  The Universal Die Set is part 1985766-1 and the new SC/LC Cable Holder is part 2064540-1.
